Many students at SUU haven't explored the diverse landscapes around southern Utah, largely because they don't know what there is to see out here. During the summer months the Outdoor Center will be taking groups of people on a variety of trips to teach new outdoor skills and to enjoy the beautiful scenery that southern Utah has to offer, Outdoor Center Director Rob Myers said.
Cedar City is well known for its many festivals and especially during the summertime, the Utah Shakespearean Festival, Groovefest and the Renaissance Faire help make Cedar City summers exciting and colorful. The Utah Shakespearean Festival is Cedar City's longest-lasting festival, opening on June 23 and continuously showing plays Monday through Saturday until Aug.
Posted Jan. 7 The holiday season has come to an end, which means no more mooching for this financially-tied college kid. After another successful break of enjoying Grandma's best recipes (and leftovers), I'm on my own again. But that's ok, because Santa knew just what leave under my tree.
(Posted April 24) While sifting through ideas the past week for what I would write in my final Movie Maven blog entry, I wanted to write about something endearing and bittersweet: the fated Fox series Firefly and its companion film Serenity.
What's the best thing about summer? Vacations to Disneyland? Camping trips with the family? Working your butt off to pay for school? No. The best part about summer is the fact that you can go to whatever movie you want without worrying about school getting in the way.

(Posted March 24) Sometimes, I just feel like listening to something a bit out there, you might say - free jazz, ambient, the like; it is during such adventures of pretension and extravagance that I discover music I enjoy with a rare intensity.
The Pastry Pub, on West Center Street, offers a variety of food and a relaxing Irish pub atmosphere. Pastry Pub owner Siroos Saifizadeh said he chose to have an Irish pub theme for his restaurant because he wanted to do something different. "I like the Irish culture and I wanted to do something like that," he said.
