Morgan Nelson and Alisha McCann, SUU math supplemental instruction coordinator, are the owners of Mad Style.
McCann said she and Nelson work well together.
"I'm the math part and she is the art part," she said. "Which is what made us good partners, we both cover a certain area of need."
Nelson said she and McCann have had the idea for an accessory store for years, but didn't start the actual process until May.
"We came up with the idea because there is nothing in this town as far as accessories go," she said.
McCann said people can't find another all-accessory store in Cedar City.
"You can't just walk into one store and find a nice variety of hats, bags and that kind of stuff," she said.
Mad Style is unique from most accessory stores because besides accessories, the store also has a lotion bar, spray on tattoos and eventually piercings Nelson said.
"We are trying to cover all the basics," she said.
One of those basics is providing accessories for The Red Hat Society, Nelson said.
"You get a lot of them in this town," she said.
Currently, Mad Style cannot perform piercings because Nelson and McCann are still working on getting licensing approved.
"(We'll do piercings) as soon as we get done getting licensed and figure out insurance," Nelson said.
Spray-on tattoos are available, and McCann said prices for the tattoos vary depending on the size and colors.
Courtney Callister, a freshman physical education major from Salt Lake City, got two spray on tattoos, one being her initials on the back of her neck and the other was the word 'princess' on her left foot.
"I think (McCann) did a really good job," she said.
McCann said this is her first time doing spray on tattoos and said she enjoys doing them.
Callister also said she likes Mad Style, and once she gets more money, she wants to come back to the shop and buy jewelry.
Nelson said she and McCann are going to constantly have deals so their items are affordable.
One of the deals will be if a person buys two pairs of earrings he or she can get one pair free, Nelson said.
"We are going to do deals all the time," she said. "Everyone is broke, but you have a little money and you've got to spend it somewhere."
McCann said low prices are one of the reasons why people should come to Mad Style.
"We have a good variety and cheap prices," she said. "Affordable luxuries, that is one of our mottos."
Mad Style is located at 568 S. Main St. and is open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
