While sifting through ideas the past week for what I would write in my final Movie Maven blog entry, I wanted to write about something endearing and bittersweet: the fated Fox series Firefly and its companion film Serenity.

(Posted April 15) April 4 marked the 40th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. Although King is most known for his magnanimous campaign for civil rights and his famous "I Have a Dream" speech that capped that campaign, I encourage reading or listening to one of his lesser-known speeches that he gave exactly one year previous to his assassination entitled "We Must Speak."

(Posted April 7) With a mere three weeks (or so) left in the semester, Spring 2008's Campus Critique is on its way to wrapping up - though I intend to continue this blog during Summer 2008.

However, despite any implications stemming from the semester's end and the return home for many traditional students, there will still be issues of importance both generally to university students and specifically to SUU students.

While Cedar City's four distinct seasons make it a year-round joy for many, summer has always been something particularly special here. There is always an excitingly distinctive atmosphere in the area during the summer months and much of it can be traced to the symbiotic relationship between the SUU campus and the general community at large.
